Mars Theatre Launches Summer Music Series and Announces Plans for Year-Round Live Music Programming
SPRINGFIELD, GA – Live music is returning to the Mars Theatre this summer as the City of Springfield launches a new Summer Music Series featuring local and regional artists every Thursday evening throughout June and July.
The series kicked off June 4 with Josh Aaron Music and marks the beginning of a renewed effort to establish the Mars Theatre as a destination for live entertainment in downtown Springfield. Building on positive community feedback from recent concerts and special events, the Summer Music Series is designed to offer affordable entertainment while laying the groundwork for a long-term live music program.
“We’ve heard repeatedly from residents that they’ve missed live music at the Mars,” said City Manager Lauren Eargle. “The response to our recent Invisible Touch concert confirmed that. Live music at the Mars is making a comeback this summer, and we’re going to use that momentum to launch a standing Third Thursday Music Series beginning in August and continuing through May.”
The Summer Music Series features a diverse lineup of performers covering Southern Rock, Classic Rock, Country, Americana, Motown, Bluegrass, Christian Contemporary, Alternative Rock, and Pop.
All performances begin at 7:00 p.m.

Looking Ahead
The Summer Music Series is only the beginning.
The City is already preparing to launch a standing Third Thursday Music Series beginning in August and continuing through May. The series will feature tribute bands and specialty acts covering a wide variety of musical genres and eras.
“We only have one date left to fill, and we’re incredibly excited about the lineup we’ve assembled so far,” Eargle said. “You can expect some outstanding tribute bands covering a wide variety of music. We’ll be rolling out those details soon, and I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised by the caliber and variety of acts coming to Springfield.”
The City hopes the expansion of live music programming will continue to establish the Mars Theatre as a cultural hub for the community, increase visitation to downtown Springfield, support local businesses, and create sustainable entertainment programming for years to come.
“My goal is to build a program that people can count on month after month,” Eargle said. “If we do this right, we’ll create something special for our community while continuing to move the Mars Theatre toward long-term financial sustainability.”
